Susan Korol Unger

Susan studied English and Creative Writing at the University of Victoria. She has published poems and short stories in various Canadian journals. Three chapbooks of her poetry and pen and ink sketches have been published by Sound Images. These are available from Cranbrook bookstores: Lotus Books and Katrina’s Books.

 

Poetry is like breathing: necessary and concentrated. Natural imagery figures prominently in Susan’s written and visual art. These images are metaphors for relationships within community and in solitude.

 

Susan’s recent works of art are from a series called “Inspiration Windows”. These mixed medium collages incorporate poetry, paper, pen and ink sketches, photography, painting, fabric, and various found objects.
