Marilyn Oliver
Marilyn Oliver has lived with her family in Cranbrook for the past 37 years.
Much of the time was spent raising two boys and working as an RN at St. Eugene and Cranbrook Regional Hospitals.
Her leisure pursuits included oil painting, jewelry making, sewing, numerous crafts and sporting activities.
For as long as she can remember, Marilyn has been drawn to Oriental culture, particularly its philosophy rich in wisdom.
Therefore, it seems a natural evolution to her present art form, Feng Shui (Fung Shway - Wind and Water). Here, images and art work reflect harmonious themes, thus allowing CHI, the life force of all animate things, to flow 'freely and positively'.
As an artist, Marilyn has discovered that it is in the process, not necessarily the end result, where fulfillment is found.
